All programmes must supply a standby programme if requested. Remember lines must be available 30 minutes earlier so they can be checked. For line bookings please contact the Network Booking Agency. It is the responsibility of the production to book all the appropriate required circuits. The cost of lines, including communication circuits, and all other facilities deemed necessary by television for safe transmission and delivery of these programmes must be included in programme budgets. The programme will not be available to deliver via lines recording by the BBC Northern Ireland deadline and must be played out directly to air from a facility via BBC Northern Ireland Playout. The programme must be complete and checked on the playout server 2x duration + 30 minutes.

The programme is played down the line and recorded by TV Presentation and then played out from server for transmission. BBC Northern Ireland can accept programmes delivered by the following options: I) Lines Recording

A programme is considered ‘close to transmission’ after the TX – 12 hours file delivery deadline. outside broadcast, a studio, abroadĭepending on the Topicality Status given to you at commission, you may be required to deliver close to transmission with a late edit or a live programme. Live feeds/whole programmes played from a live source e.g. Programmes which, because of essential last-minute preparation and/or location of the editing/recording facility, will deliver lateĪ date and time specified on commissioning documentation Required by 12 hours before transmission on the contracted delivery date Required by 10am on the contracted delivery date, the day before transmissionĪ news programme, or highlights programmes connected to earlier sport or other live event Required by 5pm on the contracted delivery date, 5 days before transmissionĪ programme with a ‘news’ element within it, e.g.

Refer to the Topicality Status table below for detail about each one. This status will determine how and precisely when your programme must be delivered. On commission of your content, you will receive information about the date by which all your content and some essential paperwork must be delivered. Once contracted to make a programme for BBC Northern Ireland, your BBC Northern Ireland Delivery Co-ordinator will email you a delivery pack outlining details of your commission which will contain the following important details:
